Key Takeaways
  • GOLDBECK SOLAR Polska has secured an EPC contract for the Sidłowo-Kikowo-Dobrowo solar complex with 722 MW combined capacity in Poland

  • It comprises 3 large-scale projects: 290 MW (Sidłowo), 235 MW (Kikowo), and 197 MW (Dobrowo)

  • Earlier, Virya Renewables Poland secured €85 million in equity investment from the EBRD to support the acquisition of related project rights

Poland is set to host the largest solar farm in all of Europe, with an installed capacity of 722 MW, says Germany’s GOLDBECK SOLAR, which has secured the EPC contract for the project. Its local presence, GOLDBECK SOLAR Polska, will connect the facility to the national grid.

The Sidłowo-Kikowo-Dobrowo project in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland will comprise the 290 MW Sidłowo, the 235 MW Kikowo, and the 197 MW Dobrowo facilities, all connected to the Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) grid via STR LKO 400/110 kV intermediate substation.

In 2024, Move On Energy commissioned a 605 MW solar power plant in Germany, which is said to be the largest operational PV project in Europe currently, with plans to add another 45 MW (see Europe’s ‘Largest’ Solar Park Commissioned In Germany).

GOLDBECK says it will provide EPC services for the entire project, along with associated HV/MV substations, high-voltage cable routes, and grid connection infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to bring our expertise to Sidłowo-Kikowo-Dobrowo project, delivering a project that sets new benchmarks in scale and impact,” said GOLDBECK SOLAR Polska’s Managing Director Steffen Emmerich.

Earlier this month, Virya Renewables Poland raised €85 million in equity investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to acquire rights to acquire the Sidłowo and Kikowo II solar PV projects from Optima Wind in Poland (see Europe Solar PV News Snippets).

Poland is encouraging the construction of large-scale renewable energy and storage facilities across the country in 8 energy clusters with PLN 264 million state support, as announced in December 2025 (see Poland’s PLN 264 Million Support For Renewables & Storage).
