The major Chinese companies continue parts of planned expansions (though often at a slower pace), diversify into new markets, while new companies attempt to get into the game as several countries and regions are striving to decrease supply-chain dependence by supporting their own PV manufacturing sector, including processing materials. On top come upgrades to quickly advance PV technologies to cut costs and improve competitiveness.
At the core of these advancements is the development of new tool platforms aimed at reducing both CapEx and OpEx. This is particularly evident in the adoption of TOPCon and HJT cell technologies. Similarly, noteworthy developments have also occurred within the materials sector, all sharing the common goal of improving cell efficiency and cost-reduction.
The pursuit of optimization extends to the module level, with substantial advancements in production equipment streamlining the manufacturing process of larger and larger module formats. Moreover, new materials are being introduced to improve the performance and reliability of PV panels.
