Swedish thin film solar equipment and cell manufacturer Midsummer has expanded its management team with the appointment of a new business development manager along with a new HR manager.

The new Head of Corporate Development Erik Olsson comes to Midsummer from local utility Tekniska verken and has also previously worked with companies as Sol Voltaics, the Swedish Energy Agency and Bond Technologies. In his new role, Olsson will work with the company's strategy, business development and public affairs for Midsummer.

"I am very happy to help Midsummer realize the goal of becoming the leading manufacturer of solar cells for roof solutions in Europe. I have followed Midsummer since the company started and today the company is well positioned with a clear strategy going forward," said Olsson.

Another new appointment to the management team is Anna-Lena Schmidt. Having worked previously with companies as Fortum Hydro power, Schmidt will be looking after personnel issues and recruitment for Midsummer.

In April 2022, Midsummer said it will replace CFO Eric Jaremalm with a new appointment so that the latter could focus on his role of vice president (see Midsummer Looking To Hire New CFO).

Supported under Italy's Recovery and Resilience Plan for its 50 MW Bari fab, Midsummer The company aims to grow its production capacity in Europe to 1 GW by 2030.
