Monocrystalline ingot, bricks and wafer producer Norwegian Crystals (NCR) from Norway has secured a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the form of Dr Matthias Peschke who will join the company's senior leadership team with effect from October 1, 2022.

A PhD in Electrical Engineering, the new CTO has previously worked in senior leadership roles with various companies including TE Semiconductor, Masdar PV and Infineon. His more than 30 years of operational and technology leadership experience has been in the semiconductor and solar industries.

At NCR, Peschke will be tasked with accelerating the company's vision and strategy to rapidly grow capacity to world scale. He will be in charge of technical execution and lead the teams for NCR Expansion Program, while also managing the quality and research and development (R&D) functions for the organization.

"I have known Matthias for many years," said COO, Blake Barthelmess. "He is a thought leader and an out of the box thinker. I greatly look forward to working with him to fully realize our strategic ambitions," said NCR COO Blake Barthelmess.

Recently, NCR secured a contract with Meyer Burger to supply monocrystalline silicon wafers that are produced using hydropower (see Non-Asian Silicon Wafers For Meyer Burger Technology).
