Leading Chinese Module Manufacturer Trina To Expand Dramatically Its N-Type Panel Capacity, Offering Over 10 GW For Delivery In Early 2023

Global solar PV technology company Trina Solar has come out with its Vertex N solar module with 595 W, targeting commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility scale projects, while planning to offer over 10 GW of the n-type modules for delivery in Q1/2023.

The 595 W module has 30 W more output than conventional n-type modules, claims Trina, and bifaciality of 80% with its dual glass feature. The company says these modules are highly compatible with trackers and deliver higher efficiency, lower degradation and better energy yield.

Along with the 595 W product, it caters to the utility scale solar application with its 690 W Vertex N; for the rooftop solar segment it offers its Vertex S+ 445W panels. All of these variants use n-type i-TOPCon solar cell technology with 210mm wafer sized cells.

Trina now targets to roll out the new generation of Vertex N modules for mass production by the end of 2022, with more than 10 GW of capacity ready to be delivered by Q1/2023. By the end of 2023, it aims to scale up the capacity of n-type modules to between 20 GW and 30 GW.

The Chinese manufacturer was able to increase the efficiency of its n-type monocrystalline silicon Vertex solar module with 210mm size to 24.24% in August 2022 (see Trina Solar Reports 24.24% Module Efficiency Record).
