Nextracker Expands US Manufacturing Capacity

• At RE+ 2023 trade show in Las Vegas, Nextracker announced a new US manufacturing fab  
• UNX will own and operate the factory that will produce critical steel components exclusively for Nextracker  
• The tracker manufacturer plans to use these products for its ground mounted solar installations in the US 

Leading solar PV tracker manufacturer Nextracker has opened a new manufacturing facility in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US, where industrial manufacturing company Unimacts (UNX) will exclusively produce critical steel components for the tracker producer.  

To be owned and operated by UNX, the facility features its manufacturing machinery and equipment relocated from Mexico along with new equipment.  The annual nameplate production capacity of the factory wasn't disclosed in the official statement.  

Nextracker will use the steel products produced at the new fab for its ground-mounted power generation projects, specifically in Nevada and southwestern states.  

Nextracker says this is the company's 6th exclusive manufacturing fab and the 15th facility it has set up or expanded with key suppliers in the country, since 2022. Altogether, the tracker maker says it has built more than 25 GW annual domestic solar tracker capacity.  

Other dedicated production lines it previously announced are located in Texas, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Tennessee (see More Local Steel For Solar In US).  

"This plant will support our customers with quick shipping and American-made products," said Nextracker Founder and CEO, Dan Shugar.  

The partners made an official announcement of the new line at the ongoing RE+ 2023 trade show where Nextracker is also launching 3 new products, including a software solution (see Nextracker Unveils New Tracker Solutions).
