Idemitsu Renewables' 73 MW California solar plant energized; Recurrent Energy announces completion of 100 MW solar in Mississippi; Hawaiian university gets solar and storage from Duke Energy; Consolidated Edison Development to build 300 MW solar plant for CPS Energy.

73 MW solar plant online in California: Idemitsu Renewables has achieved commercial operations for its 73 MW Luciana Solar Project in California's Tulare County in the US. Power generated is contracted under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with local power supplier East Bay Community Energy (EBCE). EBCE's CEO Nick Chaset said the project bring more low cost renewable energy to its portfolio as it aims to supply 100% clean energy to its customers by 2030.

Recurrent Energy completes 100 MW solar plant: Canadian Solar subsidiary Recurrent Energy says it has completed the 'largest' solar installation in Mississippi, US with 100 MW capacity. Located near Ruleville, the Sunflower Solar Stations will be owned by Entergy Mississippi and is one among the 1^st utility scale projects to be constructed under a build transfer agreement (BTA) in the country, Recurrent Energy added. The plant is equipped with 272,000 solar modules atop single axis trackers.

Solar and storage for Hawaiian university: Brigham Young University-Hawaii has been equipped with 3 rooftop solar, 5 solar carports and 7,324.8 kWh of Tesla Megapacks battery storage by Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions. The Oahu island located university expects to meet around 39% of its electricity needs annually with this installation that is estimated to produce 6.37 MWh. It will help the university save over $20 million in utility costs over the system's life. It will purchase power from this capacity from Duke Energy through a 20-year PPA.

300 MW solar for CPS Energy: US based electric and natural gas utility CPS Energy has entered an agreement with Consolidated Edison Development for a 300 MW solar project to come up in Goliad County in Texas. Construction on site is scheduled to commence in 2023 and on completion CPS Energy will source power from it under a 25-year PPA. CPS Energy said it is the 1^st part of its FlexPower Bundle initiative designed to diversity its power generation mix with up to 900 MW solar, up to 50 MW energy storage and 500 MW firming capacity (see CPS Energy Looking To Add 900 MW Solar Capacity).
