NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited, a subsidiary of India’s National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), has launched an expression of interest (EOI) to seek interested offtakers for procurement of solar power from its 735 MW Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan.

It plans to sell power from this project for INR 3.00 per kWh levelized tariff at ex-bus which refers to actual energy to be sold, as which will be connected to 400 kV interstate transmission system (ISTS). NVVM estimates the project to come online between May 2022 and July 2022.

NVVN said the purpose of this EOI is to seek interested applicants for solar power requirement, solar thermal bundled round-the-clock (RTC)/peak power requirement, and renewable energy RTC/peak power requirement at competitive prices. It may tie-up with identified applicants.

To be considered as an eligible procurer, NVVN wants the applicants to have a sanctioned load greater than 2 MW. The EOI is open to individual applicants as well as industries, hospital, temples, companies, government agencies, government companies, public sector undertakings, discoms, among others.

Launched on June 22, 2021, the EOI can be submitted by interested applicants by July 21, 2021, and bids will be opened on July 22, 2021. Tender details are available on NTPC’s eprocure website.

NTPC is in charge of implementing 925 MW Nokh Solar Park under an agreement with the Rajasthan Solarpark Development Company Ltd. (RSDCL). In February 2021, it launched a tender to seek interested companies to set up the 735 MW capacity here in the form of 3 projects of 245 MW each (see NTPC Launches Tender For 735 MW Solar PV Capacity).
