Global solar PV tracker manufacturer PV Hardware (PVH) is fast making inroads into the rapidly advancing Indian solar market. As part of the TaiyangNews Leadership Talks, at the Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 (REI 2025), TaiyangNews’ Head of Technology, Shravan Chunduri, caught up with PVH’s Head, Sales & Sourcing – India, Varun Singh, and Technical Office Director, Chowdary Charan, to know more about the company’s plans for this part of the world.

Singh shared that the company views India as a major and fast-growing solar market. PVH had originally planned to enter India in 2021, but prioritized international commitments at the time. India’s scale and increasing localization make it a natural market for PVH, he stressed.

Aligned with India’s focus on Make in India, PVH has already achieved about 92% localization, aiming for 100% by February 2026, added Singh.

The tracker segment in India is gaining strong momentum, with many new tenders – especially from public sector utilities – mandating the use of trackers. Singh added that PVH is manufacturing in India not only for the Indian market but also for global exports.

Speaking about product and technology, Chowdary Charan highlighted 2 key technology features of PVH trackers – Total Stow Solution helps EPCs reduce construction-phase risks, while the Terrain Response feature can cut site grading by up to 90%, saving both time and cost.

On the software side, Charan said PVH offers a standard backtracking algorithm along with a 3D backtracking option and diffuse gain optimization, which together can improve energy generation. The diffuse gain optimization can help customers get up to 1% increase in energy gain at the site.

He also emphasized the importance of reliable communication architecture, noting that PVH uses LoRaWAN technology, which provides long-range coverage to ensure stable and timely signals for tracker operation and safety.
