TaiyangNews Webinar Explored Key Advances in Cost Reduction and Efficiency to Lower LCOE of Heterojunction Solar Technology

Solar panel efficiency and power aren't the whole story. Other performance attributes such as temperature coefficient, bifaciality, and low light response also play significant roles in determining a system's real-world performance and levelized cost of energy (LCOE). While Heterojunction Technology (HJT) excels in all these aspects, it has historically struggled with the cost-per-watt metric. However, continuous innovation and process improvements in HJT cell technology have not only further improved record efficiencies but also reduced costs to a level where HJT can compete with other mainstream technologies on an LCOE basis.

Recent advancements, were discussed in the TaiyangNews Special Webinar on HJT Technology organized in cooperation with HJT technology pioneer Huasun,  have pushed the boundaries even further. The webinar delved into the latest technology developments that are not only pushing efficiency higher but also significantly reducing the production costs of HJT. We also looked in the different applications and markets for HJT, while presenters explained how these breakthroughs are making HJT a compelling option for achieving lower LCOE than competing cell technologies in real-world solar projects.
