Panasonic Corporation of North America has launched 2 new solar module variants under its EverVolt series—one based on heterojunction (HJT) and the other using PERC solar cell technology—both targeting the high performing residential solar segment and available in Q2/2022.

The new EverVolt H Series module is based on 66 half-cut cells and HJT technology with a power output of 400W and 410W. This product with gapless connections comes with an efficiency rating of 21.6% and 22.2%, respectively. Panasonic claims this product to have one of the industry's lowest annual degradation rates while guaranteeing power output of at least 92% in the 25th year after installation. The new 22.2% version would rank among the Top 5 commercial high efficiency modules of our December ranking (see Top Solar Module Listing – Dec. 2021)

The PK Black Series module is the first for Panasonic to use PERC technology, in an all-black variant. Panasonic has used 60 half-cut cells for this 360W variant having 19.7% module efficiency. The 370W module has a maximum efficiency of 20.3%. For these modules, aimed at eco-conscious homeowners, it guarantees a power output of at least 86% in the 25th year.

"More homeowners than ever are interested in going solar, so offering a wide array of wattage, size and price options is essential to staying competitive in the market," said Director of Solar and Energy Storage at Panasonic Life Solutions Company of America, Mukesh Sethi.

As the name suggests, the new variants are compatible with the company's November 2021 launch, EverVolt 2.0 residential battery. It has also announced newer features for the battery product including a gateway system to simplify installation and a new app for homeowners.

Both HJT and PERC along with TOPCon solar technologies were the subject of discussion during TaiyangNews 3-day virtual conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies.
