AXIAN Energy, part of the African investment firm Madagascar-headquartered AXIAN Group, has announced the appointment of Romiald Noussi as the company's new chief operating officer (COO). 

With a development pipeline of hydro and solar power projects exceeding 1.5 GW, AXIAN Energy aims to expand its renewable energy portfolio in Africa by 500 MW over the next 3 years. The pan-African company recently acquired some solar assets in Madagascar and Burkina Faso from GreenYellow (see Africa Solar PV News Snippets). 

A citizen of Cameroon, Noussi comes to AXIAN Energy with an experience spanning more than 2 decades, including at British power company Aggreko. Noussi worked in various senior positions at Aggreko, including country director and regional director for west and central Africa.  

In his new role as COO of AXIAN Energy, Noussi will be responsible for strengthening the company's expertise in the management and operation of energy projects across Africa.
