ContourGlobal Ltd, the British renewable and thermal power generator, has announced the appointment of Antonio Cammisecra as the group's new chief executive officer (CEO). A long-timer with Enel Green Power (EGP), Cammisecra has replaced Joseph C. Brandt, who is leaving after 17 years with the British group. 

An industry veteran, Cammisecra worked with Italy's Enel Group for several years serving in various senior positions. Between May 2017 and October 2020, he led EGP as its CEO. Till June 2023, he worked as the head of Enel Grids.  

Cammisecra was also the president of the RES4Africa Foundation till December 2020. 

ContourGlobal says Cammisecra contributed to the expansion of EGP into a renewables major, expanding its power generation fleet with 84 GW in 20 nations.  

At the British company, Cammisecra will be tasked with steering its investment strategy towards decarbonizing the group's footprint as it looks at expanding the platform in sustainable technologies. He joined the new company on February 2, 2024.  

Owned by global investment firm KKR, ContourGlobal owns and operates 6.2 GW of power generation facilities in 20 nations across Europe, the Americas and Africa. The assets comprise wind, hydro, solar and battery storage along with thermal power plants.

This is a global trend that I have long been engaged with throughout my career," said Cammisecra.
