Canadian Solar has appointed Dylan Marx as the CEO of Recurrent Energy, effective July 6, 2026
A Canadian Solar veteran since 2013, Marx has held several leadership positions, including President of Operations and Maintenance at Recurrent Energy
Outgoing CEO Ismael Guerrero has stepped down from the role and will continue as a non-executive advisor until December 31, 2026
Canadian Solar has reshuffled the leadership of its project development subsidiary, Recurrent Energy, by appointing its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dylan Marx, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Marx has served as Canadian Solar's COO since December 2025 and is also the Corporate Vice President of Operations and President of Operations and Maintenance for Recurrent Energy.
A long-timer with the Canada-headquartered company, Marx came on board in 2013. He previously worked with brands such as ATS and BlackBerry.
Welcoming him to the new role, Canadian Solar CEO Colin Parkin said, “Dylan's deep knowledge of Recurrent Energy's business, global perspective, and proven track record in operational oversight make him the right leader to guide Recurrent into its next phase.” Parkin was appointed the CEO in May 2026 (see Canadian Solar Names Colin Parkin As President).
With his appointment effective immediately (July 6, 2026), Marx replaces Ismael Guerrero, who has stepped down from his position. The management expressed gratitude for his service to the company.
Guerrero joined Canadian Solar as Vice President of Global Projects before rejoining the company in July 2019 as Corporate Vice President and President of the Energy business. In between, he was the President and Head of Origination at TerraForm Global, and later the CEO of SunEdison South East Asia.
While Marx will step down from his COO role, Guerrero will serve in a non-executive advisory capacity through December 31, 2026.
