
Hinduja Renewables appoints Deepak Thakur as MD & CEO, effective October 1, 2025
Thakur brings 30+ years of renewable energy experience, including Reliance and Mahindra Susten
Hinduja Renewables targets portfolio expansion from 300 MW to 1 GW across C&I and captive markets
Clean energy company Hinduja Renewables Energy Private Limited (HREPL) has appointed Deepak Thakur as the company’s new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO).
Thakur joins the group with deep industry experience, having worked with brands such as Mahindra Solarize and Sterling and Wilson, among others. During his more than 3 decades of experience, Thakur worked as the EVP for the renewable energy and storage division at Reliance Industries Limited.
He was the MD and CEO of solar IPP and EPC company Mahindra Susten until July 2025 (see Ex-Reliance RE Resource Joins Mahindra Group).
Established by Mumbai-headquartered global conglomerate Hinduja Group, Hinduja Renewables has an operating portfolio of over 300 MW solar capacity across C&I rooftop, open access, and captive markets. Over the next few years, it aims to expand the portfolio to 1 GW.
At Hinduja Renewables, Thakur has taken over from Sumit Pandey with effect from October 1, 2025. Pandey worked with Hinduja Renewables for over 4 years.
