Fluence Energy, a Siemens and AES company, has announced a series of leadership changes as the energy storage company works to improve operational performance and strengthen manufacturing operations.

The US-based energy storage company has named Axel Meier as its interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He succeeds Julian Nebreda, who has stepped down as President and CEO.

Meier has served on Fluence’s Board of Directors since 2020. He recently retired as CFO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. He brings more than 30 years of experience, including senior leadership positions across its infrastructure, industry, and technology businesses.

Ricardo Roizen, as interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replaces Ahmed Pasha, who stepped down as the company’s Senior Vice President and CFO. Roizen previously served as the CFO of AES Andes. A company statement says he has more than a decade of financial leadership experience covering corporate finance, financial planning, business analysis, and treasury operations.

The management said it has initiated searches for permanent appointments to the CEO and CFO positions.

Additionally, Fluence has appointed Marco Boos as Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Success Officer, effective November 15, 2026. He succeeds John Zahurancik. Boos previously worked with brands including Proenergy, Weatherford, ABB, and Siemens.

Bernerd Da Santos, Fluence’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), will continue in his role covering supply chain, product development, commercial performance, and customer delivery.

The company has also set up a new Manufacturing and Operations Oversight Committee within the Board of Directors, chaired by Stephan May. It will oversee efforts to improve manufacturing performance, operational execution, and customer delivery. The company reported a contracted backlog of $6.4 billion in its Q3 2026 results (see Fluence Energy Reports Higher Q3 Revenue, Cuts FY26 Outlook).
