JinkoSolar has appointed Steven Chan as the General Manager of its North American PV module team, succeeding Nigel Cockroft, who recently left the company to become Chief Commercial Officer at FIXX Energy.

Chan will now lead the North American PV module business for Jinko, with a focus on expanding sales of solar modules manufactured at JinkoSolar's partner facility in Jacksonville, Florida. He said domestic manufacturing will play an increasingly important role in supporting the US energy transition and meeting customer demand.

Till recently, Chan worked as the General Manager, North America for CLOU ESS, a subsidiary of China’s Midea Energy focused on stationary utility-scale energy storage solutions. For over 2 years, he also worked with LONGi in a similar role, overseeing the North American team.

With more than 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Chan has also worked with brands such as Sungrow, NRG Home Solar, Andalay Solar, GCL Solar, and Suntech Power.

Chan thanked his predecessor Nigel Cockroft for his leadership in building the regional organization. Cockroft spent 13 years at JinkoSolar, where he led the company's US and Canada operations, oversaw the deployment of more than 30 GW of solar panels, and helped establish its manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Florida.

Cockroft is now the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of US-based lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell manufacturer FIXX Energy. The company also announced the appointment of Jennifer Cooper as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) earlier this month.
