European solar cell and module manufacturer Meyer Burger Technology AG has introduced some leadership changes after announcing the departure of its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Moritz Borgmann for personal reasons.
Borgmann joined Meyer Burger in 2021 as the Managing Director for Meyer Burger (Industries) GmbH, thereafter, being elevated as the CCO of the group. The management credits him with building the company's international sales and marketing organization, turning it into a premium brand for solar modules.
Before joining Meyer Burger, Borgmann worked with cleantech consultancy Apricum, advising the Switzerland headquartered manufacturer on the development and implementation of its new business strategy to transform from a pureplay PV equipment supplier to a solar cell and module maker (see Meyer Burger Gets Apricum's Moritz Borgmann).
With his departure, the management announced a division of his responsibilities between existing executives. Chief Operating Officer (COO) Daniel Menzel will be in charge of Meyer Burger Americas sales and business development, responsible for setting up the company's solar cell and module manufacturing facilities in Arizona and Colorado (see Further Capacity Expansion For Meyer Burger).
CEO Gunter Erfurt is taking over the company's commercial activities in Europe and Rest of the World (ROW).
"I would like to thank Moritz Borgmann for his conviction and commitment to realize our vision of a prosperous solar manufacturing industry in Europe and the United States," said Erfurt.
