Lightsource bp has appointed Olivier Fricot as the global head of investments for the British solar developer’s recently formed Investment Management Group. The main task of this group is to manage and drive value from the group’s asset portfolio.
Lightsource bp explained that Fricot’s team will work alongside the company’s other functions on a global level to deliver the best possible returns from the its projects from a technical, commercial and financial standpoint, fulfilling responsibilities to investors and driving further value.
According to the management, Fricot is ‘perfectly positioned’ to take on this role with his deep knowledge of the company and its business model. In his previous job with global financial services firm Investec in various positions, Fricot worked closely with Lightsource bp on several deals.
“The position of Global Head of Investments is a newly created role at Lightsource bp, and Olivier brings a wealth of knowledge and capability to the company,” said Group Chief Investment Officer Paul McCartie. “His considerable experience in project finance, asset investments and project development will be invaluable as we continue to scale up our ambitions worldwide.”
Lightsource bp says its global utility scale solar project pipeline has grown to 3 GW.
