Mainstream Renewable Power is promoting its CFO Julie Berg to Group CEO
After joining Mainstream in 2024, she is credited with playing a key role in the company’s strategic transformation
Berg succeeds Morten Henriksen, who has left the company and now leads Norwegian food producer Nortura
Mainstream Renewable Power, a renewable energy developer, has announced the appointment of Julie Berg as the new group chief executive officer (CEO). She will take charge from January 2026.
This is a promotion for Berg, who joined Mainstream in 2024 as the chief financial officer (CFO). Mainstream credits Berg with leading the group through its strategic transformation, including the change of headquarters from Dublin to Oslo in 2025.
Berg worked with KPMG Norway for over 23 years in various executive roles. Before joining Mainstream, she was the CFO of Aker Carbon Capture. Mainstream is backed by Aker Horizons, its majority stakeholder, and Mitsui & Co. Mainstream has so far delivered 6.6 GW of wind and solar generation assets to financial close-ready, it says.
“Honored to lead the Mainstream Renewable Power team into the future!” said Berg on her appointment on her LinkedIn account. “The road ahead brings change and opportunity—shifting markets, evolving regulations, and supply chain dynamics—but our strategy is clear: leverage our expertise, teamwork, and strong values to deliver on our growth agenda.”
Berg will replace Morten Henriksen to take charge. Having assumed the role of Group CEO in March 2025, Henriksen has stepped down from the role to pursue other opportunities. He has now joined Norwegian food producer Nortura as its CEO.
