  • He has made the switch from ReNew where he was the group president
  • His appointment follows that of Nilesh Malani who is on board as the CMO

India's leading solar cell and module manufacturer Waaree Group has been making changes at the senior leadership level of late. The company has brought on board a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with Amit Paithankar reporting to duty since March 2024.

Nilesh Malani is the company's new chief marketing officer since February 2024, after switching over from Indian cables and wires manufacturer Polycab Inda (see India's Waaree Group Brings In New Chief Marketing Officer).

While the company itself has not made any formal announcements for these new appointees, both Malani and Paithankar made the declaration on their LinkedIn profiles.

Along with being the Group President of ReNew, Paithankar was also the member of the management board of the company for over a year. A scientist for Swedish-Swiss multinational ABB for 4 years, Paithankar worked for the longest time for 20 years with the US-headquartered engineering services company Emerson. In his last position with Emerson, he was the VP for its Advanced Design Center and Managing Director for South Asia.

Paithankar takes over the reins of the company from Waaree's previous Group CEO Vivek Srivastava, who exited the manufacturer in December 2023 after having worked in the position for over 2 years (see New CEO For India's Waaree Energies).

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the CEO for India business with wind energy company Suzlon Group since February 2024.
