Singapore headquartered solar module company Maxeon Solar Technologies announced that Philippe Costemale will be joining them in August as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Philippe Costemale will succeed Dr Markus Sickmoeller, who will give up the position in September 2022 as part of an orderly transition of duties.

Costemale will be responsible for the global manufacturing organization, global operations, and supply chain activities. He will be reporting directly to CEO Jeff Waters.

Costemale carries vast knowledge about B2B business and brings over 20 years' experience in smart manufacturing transformation, consolidating global and regional supply chains, and managing operations in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Before this, he has held the position of Vice President Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain for Technicolor based in Hong Kong. He has spent around 14 years at global manufacturing giant Jabil where, as GM for Europe, and has led the business and operations.

CEO of Maxeon Solar Technologies Jeff Waters said, "We are thrilled to have Philippe join our leadership team at Maxeon. He has a great breadth and depth of manufacturing experience borne from managing volume factories across four continents, across high tech industries from energy to consumer. Philippe will take the lead on continuing and ensuring Maxeon's transformation, as we introduce new products, maximize factory utilization, and drive down costs."

Maxeon, a spin off, of SunPower, offers the highest efficient commercial solar modules based on its high-efficiency IBC cells (see Top Solar Modules Listing – April 2022). In February, it was also the first in the industry announcing to offer a 40-year warranty for product quality, power performance and services for Maxeon Interdigitated Back Contact (IBC) solar modules calling it the industry's 'longest and most comprehensive combined warranty' (see IBC Solar Panels With Impressive 40-Year Warranty).
