Norwegian floating solar PV systems specialist Ocean Sun is expanding its top leadership team with the appointment of David Mikal Knutsen as the chief product officer (CPO), and Carl Petter Lehne as its chief operating officer (COO).  

An experienced senior executive from the maritime industry, Knutsen was the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of ECOnnect Energy AS. Here, said Ocean Sun, he was instrumental in developing the world’s 1st floating LNG transfer system.  

With a Master’s degree in Marine Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Ocean Sun expects Knutsen’s experience in marine technology and product innovation to be a ‘game-changer’ as it expands its floating PV offerings.  

Another new hire, Lehne was till now working with the Tetra Tech owned business management consultancy Metier. Till recently, he was worked as the group leader for Industry and Infrastructure domain. Also a marine technology specialist by degree, Lehne brings to the table his skills in project development and execution.  

Welcoming the 2 new team members, Ocean Sun CEO Kristian Tørvold said, “David’s and Carl Petter’s expertise will be game-changing as we drive Ocean Sun’s growth and innovation forward. Their combined skills will significantly enhance our capabilities in both product development and operational execution.”
