RCT Power GmbH, the Konstanz, Germany-based manufacturer of integrated system solutions for inverters and energy storage systems, has expanded its senior executive team with the addition of Prof. Dr. Peter Fath as an additional managing director (MD).

He will join the other 2 MDs, Dr. Eric Rüland and Thomas Hauser in the team. This role is in addition to Fath’s MD role at RCT Solutions GmbH, a sister company to RCT Power. RCT Solutions supports companies globally in establishing new solar factories.

Fath will also continue to retain a similar position at RCT Hydrogen that focuses on building green hydrogen factories.

RCT Power management said Fath’s addition to the team will drive its future growth strategy and strengthen the company’s position as a quality leader in integrated energy storage system solutions. Additionally, Hauser is stepping down to focus more on technical innovation.

“We are delighted that Peter Fath has joined us as Managing Director for Strategy and Corporate Management. Our culture of innovation has always been characterised by teamwork, which he has significantly influenced as a co-founder of RCT Power,” agree the two current Managing Directors.

A board member of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) for 13 years, Fath is a renowned and respected name in the solar circles. He previously worked as the executive vice president at wet-chemical production equipment supplier RENA Solar, and was part of the engineering company Centrotherm’s executive board.

Bringing in Fath to RCT Power sends a ‘clear signal’ to further strengthen the company’s growth strategy, stated the management. RCT Power currently operates its factories in Germany, China and Malaysia with a total production area of 73,000 m² with an annual capacity of 60,000 home storage systems and 25 GWh of battery storage systems. It targets to expand the latter to 40 GWh by the end of 2025. In October 2023, RCT Power launched a Giga-Fab in Germany's Augsburg for inverter production (see New Hybrid Solar Inverter Production In Germany).

In addition to rooftop solar, it plans to expand in the commercial & industrial (C&I) segment while strengthening its presence in Europe and MENA region as it aims to become one of the world’s largest storage manufacturers as a German company.

Fath will be in attendance at the Solar Made in USA Conference at RE+ at Anaheim, California, US on September 9, 2024 when he talks about cost competitiveness of US solar manufacturing. The 1-day conference will look into manufacturing solar wafers, cells and modules competitively in the US. It is hosted by TaiyangNews, EUPD Research and RE+.
