Norway headquartered solar cell and module manufacturer REC Group has expanded its senior management team for APAC bringing in former LG Electronics Solar Division executives Ian Lee and Gus Paviani to lead its sales and marketing division.
At LG Electronics Solar Division, Ian Lee was till recently working as APAC director of Solar Sales & Marketing and in total worked with the company for 13 years. At REC, Lee will work as vice president for REC APAC Sales & Marketing.
In his new role, Lee will lead his team to deliver sales goals and be responsible building and maintaining customer relationships to grow the company's presence in the region.
Gus Paviani will be the company's new country manager for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) where he will lead the company's sales team. Having spent 6 years at LG, at REC Paviani will be required to meet sales goals for the region by designing and implementing strategic sales plans to expand the customer base.
REC's ANZ Director of Sales Paul Scerri who has been working in the region for over 5 years, will now report to Paviani as ANZ head of Distribution where he will drive partnerships and business growth.

"Their insights will be invaluable as we look forward to the launch of our newest panel in the region, the Alpha Pure-R, the highest power heterojunction (HJT) G12 cell panel for residential installations in the market."

In February 2022, South Korea's LG Electronics cited increasing material and logistics costs along with severe supply constraints to announced it will exit solar panel business and will continue with production only till Q2/2022 (see LG To Exit Solar Module Business).
