SAPVIA Appoints New Board Members

• SAPVIA has elected a new board of directors that will be headed by Chanda Nxumalo as the chairperson
• Nxumalo was previously the vice-chairperson of the board and is the director of technical consultancy firm Harmattan Renewables
• The board also comprises members from The Sola Group, Solareff, Bushweld Energy, Enel Green Power SA, ED Platform, Juwi Renewable Energies, Nashua Mpumalanga Group, SunElex Group and Reatile Group

The South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) has appointed a new board of directors, to be led by Chanda Nxumalo as the chairperson who works as Director of Harmattan Renewables, a technical consultancy firm for Africa energy projects.

Nxumalo was elevated from the position of vice-chairperson of the board. According to her LinkedIn profile, Nxumalo is also an independent non-executive director at coal and heavy minerals company Exxaro Resources in South Africa.

Other members of the board come from The Sola Group, Solareff, Bushweld Energy, Enel Green Power SA, ED Platform, Juwi Renewable Energies, Nashua Mpumalanga Group, SunElex Group and Reatile Group.

The new appointments come soon after SAPVIA announced Dr Rethabile Melamu as its CEO in May 2022 identifying her as an internationally recognized thought leader.
