The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has announced its Board Chair Darren Van’t Hof as the US solar lobby association’s Interim President and CEO. His appointment will take effect from January 20, 2026, when he will leave his existing role.

Van’t Hof will guide the association through this period of transition, stated SEIA. He previously held senior roles at the U.S. Bank and Oakland Capital Solutions.

“Darren is a trusted leader, and we’re confident his steady hand will ensure SEIA continues to deliver strong advocacy and meaningful progress for its members,” said Elizabeth Reicherts, Global Head of Government Affairs for SolarEdge Technologies and the Chair of SEIA’s Executive Search Committee.

Van’t Hof’s appointment follows the announced departure of the incumbent, Abigail Ross Hopper. She is set to leave the association after leading it for nearly a decade (see SEIA President & CEO Announces Her Departure).

Meanwhile, the SEIA board continues to search for a replacement for Hopper on a permanent basis. Till that time, Van’t Hof will oversee day-to-day operations and drive key strategic advocacy initiatives.
