The US residential solar power company SunPower Corporation continues to undergo changes at the top with the Executive Chairman of the Board and Principal Executive Officer Tom Werner bringing back Tony Garzolini to the group.
In his previous stint with SunPower, Garzolini worked in various leadership positions for over 13 years. He left the group in December 2022 as the VP of Residential Sales. The management credits him with building the group's Dealer Network and launching its direct sales channel. Garzolini also directed the company's sales strategy as it transitioned from a module manufacturer to a complete solar and storage systems and financial products service provider.
Until recently, Garzolini was employed with Generac Power Systems as its SVP for Residential Product Sales.
He now joins SunPower as the EVP and chief revenue officer (CRO). He will be responsible for overseeing sales, including the Direct, Dealer and New Homes channels, along with pricing and demand generation.
Welcoming back Garzolini, Werner said, "With Tony's deep expertise in residential renewable energy and exceptional track record working with our valued network of independent solar dealers, we believe his leadership will help put SunPower in a strong position to nurture the Dealer Network and expand its reach, further our market leading position in New Homes, and dramatically improve the customer experience."
Back to SunPower management within a few years of leaving the company after leading it as the CEO for 18 years, Werner signed up as the executive chairman initially. Following the departure of CEO Peter Faricy soon after, Werner was appointed by the board as the principal executive officer (see SunPower Announces CEO Peter Faricy's Departure).
Meanwhile, the management has notified the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the delay in filing its Annual Report for 2023.
