Thilo Kinkel Now DMEGC Solar’s Sales Head In Europe

After years of working with solar PV manufacturer Suntech where his last position was Director Sales Central European Union (EU) for Suntech Deutschland GmbH, Thilo Kinkel has now joined China’s Hengdian Group’s DMEGC Solar as its head of Sales for Central EU.

DMEGC Solar produces monocrystalline solar cells and modules in China with an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.2 GW wafers in Hengdian, 10 GW cells at Sihong and 6.5  GW modules at Qixian. As per the company’s module manufacturing roadmap, it aims to grow the capacity to 12 GW by the end of 2023, further up to 18 GW by 2024 and eventually 25 GW by 2025.

In August 2022, DMEGC announced that its Hengdian DMC M6 and M10 high efficiency p-type PERC top cell efficiency improved to 24.01% using mainstream equipment. It has also set up n-type TOPCon and p-type IBC pilot lines and plans to expand the TOPCon production capacity in 2023 to about 5 GW (see China PV News Snippets).

In a LinkedIn post announcing his move, Kinkel stated, “We look forward to support distribution and project business! We have a dedicated teams in the EU for sales, sales support and logistic service and a bonded warehouse in Rotterdam.”

He worked with Chinese crystalline silicon solar cells and modules producer Suntech in various senior positions since October 2008 till he quit in August 2022. In February 2022, Suntech started construction on its 10 GW large size module project through its subsidiary Fengyang Suntech Solar Power (see China PV News Snippets).
