Maxeon Solar Technologies has announced the appointment of Vikas Desai as the group's chief commercial officer (CCO). He has been working with the Singapore-headquartered solar cell and module manufacturer since October 2023.
Desai came on board the SunPower spin-off last year when Maxeon acquired Complete Solaria, which he headed as its president (see Maxeon Reaches Deal With California Solar Company).
He has also worked with various other brands, including SunPower, SunEdison, Flextronics and Powerside during his over 2-decade-long career. He joined Solaria in October 2021 (see New President For Solaria Corporation).
At Maxeon, he will be responsible for the manufacturer's global go-to-market and customer-facing functions. He will directly report to CEO Bill Mulligan and be based out of California, US.
"Since joining Maxeon, he has been successfully building our U.S. channel, and now in his expanded role will further strengthen our brand and the value proposition of our solutions to grow all our commercial activities globally," said Mulligan.
