On April 28, a delegation comprising mayors and government officials from several countries, including Jordan, Oman, New Zealand, and Lebanon, visited the headquarters of LONGi. The delegation explored the forefront of photovoltaic technology and discussed pathways for green development in the context of global energy transition, experiencing the innovation vitality of LONGi and Xi’an.

Accompanied by Floria Wang, Global Brand Director of LONGi, the delegation toured the LONGi Smart Energy Exhibition Hall. They gained a detailed understanding of LONGi’s journey from a silicon wafer innovator to a globally leading solar technology company, and expressed appreciation for LONGi’s efforts in continuously reducing the levelized cost of photovoltaic electricity through technological R&D.

In the core exhibition area, the guests showed strong interest in LONGi’s latest high-efficiency back-contact cell technology. The LONGi staff explained that the company has always embedded technological R&D into its corporate DNA, investing over tens of billions of RMB in recent years, consistently setting world records in both crystalline silicon single-junction cells and crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells. The mayors paused to learn about the specific impact of efficiency improvements on reducing land use and lowering the levelized cost of electricity, gaining a clearer understanding of the economic viability of PV as a major source of green power in the future.

In the project case display area, from the project in the Kubuqi Desert to distributed microgrids in off-grid areas of Africa, from floating power stations in Southeast Asia to rooftop PV systems at zero-carbon factories in Europe, each implemented green energy project vividly demonstrated the adaptability and reliability of “LONGi Solutions” across diverse geographical and socio-economic conditions.

Jamal Nayef Ali Abu Obeid, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Ramtha, Jordan, noted that the combination of PV with agriculture and water has great potential in the Middle East, and expressed strong hope that LONGi’s successful cases could be realized in Jordan.

Hussein Mohammed Hassan Al Rawatar, member of the Omani Shura Council and representative of Muttrah, highly praised LONGi’s technological leadership in large-scale ground-mounted power plants and wind-solar-storage integrated projects. He mentioned that Oman is actively advancing its “Vision 2040,” with energy transition as a key pillar, and welcomed LONGi to participate in Oman’s major renewable energy projects.

Mousharraf Saadou Hajj Youssef, Mayor of Sidon, Lebanon, showed keen interest in LONGi’s distributed PV and commercial rooftop projects. He pointed out that stable and reliable green electricity is crucial for improving livelihoods and economic recovery in Lebanese cities, and hoped to introduce LONGi’s mature products and solutions to help build urban resilience.

The delegation members unanimously agreed that, under the shared mission of combating global climate change, city managers and new energy technology enterprises need to establish closer collaborative mechanisms to accelerate the transformation of laboratory breakthroughs into on-the-ground projects, enabling clean energy to benefit households worldwide.

Floria Wang, Global Brand Director of LONGi, stated that, leveraging Xi’an’s strategic position as a bridgehead of the Belt and Road Initiative, LONGi is willing to join hands with global partners to accelerate the substitution of green energy. Let clean, economical photovoltaic energy light up a sustainable future.
