JA Solar, a trusted partner in global green energy, will supply its high-performance DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for the 99MW Korlat Solar PV Project, now under construction in Croatia. Once completed, it will be the country’s largest solar power plant, marking a major step forward in Croatia’s clean energy ambitions.
The project is being developed by China Northern International Group and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Corp., Ltd. It supports Croatia’s national energy strategy, which targets 88% renewable electricity generation by 2050. The Korlat project is expected to serve as a benchmark for future solar deployments in Southeast Europe.
All modules used in the project will be JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro, the company’s flagship n-type product. Known for its industry-leading power output and field-proven durability, the module has passed a wide range of international certification and reliability tests, including resistance to salt mist, ammonia, sand abrasion, snow load, and high wind pressure. This resilience makes it well-suited for Croatia’s diverse climate conditions.
The project is expected to generate approximately 165 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year—enough to power around 50,000 households—and reduce annual CO₂ emissions by 150,000 tons.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković highlighted the project as a critical part of the country’s energy transition and praised the technological expertise of the international partners involved. Chinese Ambassador Qi Qianjin noted that the project demonstrates the strength of China–Croatia cooperation in renewable energy and will contribute to local economic development.
“We are proud to support this landmark project with our most advanced PV technology,” said Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar. “The Korlat project reflects our commitment to enabling a more sustainable future through innovation and global collaboration.”
As the global energy transition advances, JA Solar is committed to delivering all-scenario PV solutions optimized for diverse applications and environments, enabling customers worldwide to maximize performance and accelerate the shift to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
