JinkoSolar, the global leading PV and ESS supplier, has commissioned a landmark 9.728 MWp rooftop PV system at Bangkok's Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, Thailand's largest and most critical railway station. Serving over 600,000 passengers daily, the station’s high and stable electricity demand for lighting, cooling, and operational systems is now met by more than 15,000 high-efficiency Tiger Neo TOPCon modules under a self-consumption scheme, installed by Hiper Smart Consortium.
This landmark project, developed by the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), marks a strategic scale-up of Thailand's distributed PV efforts. JinkoSolar's Tiger Neo modules were selected for their superior energy yield and high power density, which are ideal for maximizing generation on the station's vast rooftop to meet its intensive, 24/7 energy needs. The self-consumption scheme means this PV power directly offsets electricity purchased from the grid, significantly reducing the station's operational costs and enhancing its energy resilience.
