LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. ("LONGi") released its first Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) report during the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This report, following the joint biodiversity protection initiative launched by LONGi and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2024, is the company's first TNFD report. It aims to systematically review the company's practices and management actions concerning nature-related issues throughout 2024.

In 2025, LONGi has become a TNFD Adopter. The report strictly adheres to the LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, Prepare) analytical framework recommended by the TNFD to identify, assess, and manage various nature-related risks and opportunities. It clearly states long-term goals to achieve "Net Zero Loss" of biodiversity and "Zero Deforestation" by 2050. This commitment reflects LONGi's high regard for biodiversity protection and climate action, aligning with global sustainable development trends. Through this pledge, LONGi demonstrates the responsibility and accountability of an industry leader, injecting Chinese strength into global ecosystem protection and climate action.

As early as the COP29 Conference in 2024, LONGi collaborated with the IUCN to jointly release the "Initiative of Advancing Climate Action and Biodiversity Conservation with Photovoltaic." This initiative called on more companies to formulate and implement climate and biodiversity protection measures based on international Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) and global standards, including the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the UNFCCC, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). It advocated for adhering to global best practices to ensure all activities meet global climate and biodiversity requirements, adopting environmentally friendly methods in the design, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects, improving energy efficiency, increasing the use of clean energy, fostering a corporate culture of biodiversity protection, and promoting international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of global best practices through partnerships.

LONGi has long engaged in capacity-building exchanges on biodiversity with the IUCN, benchmarking against leading international standards to effectively enhance the company's ability to integrate biodiversity conservation into its medium and long-term strategic planning. At the event, Li Zhenguo shared the story of how green photovoltaic power is improving the living conditions of indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest, showcasing LONGi's numerous practices and explorations in deeply integrating biodiversity protection into its core business. Furthermore, the company proposed a nature-positive pathway of "Prevention First, Ecological Empowerment, and Collaborative Transformation," demonstrating a shift from "impact mitigation" to "active contribution."

Starting from COP15 Conference of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity held in Kunming, China, in 2021, LONGi has continuously focused on how photovoltaic technology can promote biodiversity conservation and has actively engaged in practical exploration. During COP28 Conference, LONGi announced its "Zero-Carbon Life Plan for Pandas," which included donating a distributed photovoltaic power station to the Qinling Panda Foping Rescue and Breeding Research Center in China, permanently adopting a Qinling giant panda, and providing photovoltaic products and off-grid technology to support field monitoring equipment in the reserve. Earlier, in 2022, LONGi donated PV modules to the Aquila Wildlife Protection Base in South Africa, providing not only daily electricity for the reserve but also enabling a clean water supply for wildlife, offering more possibilities for the ecological management of Aquila.

In terms of corporate operations and management, LONGi has established the "E20 Environmental Standardization Management Method," implementing a three-tier management model from the group level to individual bases. This links environmental management performance with employee performance, encouraging deep participation in environmental protection actions across the company. In 2024 alone, the company invested approximately 370 million RMB in environmental protection, achieving a record of zero environmental pollution incidents. At the operational level, it reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 37% year-on-year, decreased water consumption per unit by 24.8%, and achieved a harmless waste recycling rate of 82.7%.

The Amazon is a key area for global biodiversity conservation. However, in recent years, it has faced a series of serious threats such as deforestation, illegal mining, and land occupation. In 2024 November, LONGi, in partnership with a key customer and prestigious NGOs, installed 35 off grid intermittent energy systems in residential houses, schools, health stations, and community centers in Pykany village, located within the Kayapó Menkragnoti Indigenous Territory in Brazil, completely replacing the heavily polluting diesel generators, effectively reducing carbon emissions, and decreasing dependence on fossil fuels. The construction of renewable power systems has significantly reduced health hazards for tribal residents and greatly improved the quality of life for women and children. After getting rid of time-consuming and labor-intensive fuel collection work (such as firewood cutting and carrying), local women are able to make handicrafts at night and rest more during the day, forming a sustainable source of income. Male villagers have also reduced their hunting and fishing time due to the circulation of electricity, and have opened up new economic income generating projects. By reducing carbon emissions and minimizing energy-related disturbances to the rainforest ecosystem, the project supports both community development and environmental conservation, bringing green energy to foster biodiversity protection and sustainable development in the Amazon rainforest.

By bringing light and hope to the tribal communities with its high-efficiency photovoltaic technology and products, LONGi profoundly embodies the core SDG objectives of using clean energy as an engine to promote global health equity, economic empowerment, and ecological protection. This also confirms LONGi's solemn commitment to "driving a just global energy transition through technological innovation." The release of this report not only represents LONGi's latest progress in the field of sustainable development but also provides an important reference for how green energy can advance global biodiversity conservation and climate action.

Li Zhenguo stated that in the future, the company will systematically identify, assess, and manage nature-related risks and opportunities by strictly following the TNFD framework, exploring more actionable and cutting-edge practices for corporate biodiversity protection and sustainable development.
