Two Next-Generation Modules Set New Standards for Solar Performance
LONGi introduced two HPBC 2.0-based modules tailored to utility-scale and distributed solar applications.
As the absolute highlight of this exhibition, the Hi-MO X12 is not merely a performance iteration but a cross-generational distributed flagship module. It heralds a new era where photovoltaic modules enter into "module architecture lead to cell efficiency competition. Driven by the innovative structural revolution of the Integrated Conductive Backsheet, the Hi-MO X12 achieves an all-round peak in power generation, aesthetics, and safety.
● Architectural Revolution: Featuring the industry's first Integrated Conductive Backsheet technology—much like a PCB replacing loose wires—metal foil circuits are pre-printed onto the backsheet, allowing cells to bond directly. This completely eliminates conventional ribbons, removing over 15,000 potential solder joint failure points. This transformation not only increases the conductive cross-sectional area by 85% but also delivers a 6–8W power gain.
● Peak Power: Combined with the 8–12W gain brought by the "Full-Screen Technology (Shingling + Hidden Busbar)," the two new technologies of Hi-MO X12 achieve a total power leap of 14–20W. Its commercial and industrial flagship model (LR7-72WVD) reaches a power output of 660W–690W with an efficiency exceeding 25.54%, redefining the performance ceiling for modules of the same size.
● Peak Reliability: Engineered specifically for Australia's harsh environment. Adopting a 130μm ultra-thin horizontal stacking process, internal stress is reduced by 60%, minimizing microcrack risks at the source. The introduction of a Metal Foil Barrier reduces the Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) by 90% (WVTR <0.001), standing fearless against high humidity and extreme temperature variations.
● Peak Aesthetics: The busbar-free front design, paired with Full-Screen Technology, creates a pure appearance akin to a black mirror, perfectly meeting the aesthetic demands of high-end residential and commercial buildings.
Designed for utility-scale solar projects in Australia and New Zealand, Hi-MO 9 Prime brings together refined aesthetics and high energy performance.
· High efficiency: Maximum module power of 680 W and conversion efficiency of up to 25.17%.
· Greater land-use efficiency: Approximately 4.62% more DC capacity than conventional TOPCon modules on the same land area, supporting projects with high ground coverage ratios (GCR).
· Long-term reliability: First-year degradation of just 1%, followed by annual linear degradation of 0.35%, with 88.9% of initial power output retained in year 30.
David McElrea, CEO of the Smart Energy Council, attended the product launch and delivered a keynote address on solar technology innovation and the outlook for Australia’s PV market. He highlighted growing demand for efficient, reliable and visually appealing solar products as Australia’s energy transition accelerates. With its full-screen appearance, LONGi’s new-generation module design brings a fresh approach to solar aesthetics while addressing the market’s expectations for high performance and reliability, supporting the continued evolution of Australia’s solar industry.

· EcoLife residential modules combine visual appeal and efficiency for Australian homeowners.
TÜV Rheinland Certifications Reinforce LONGi’s Commitment to Quality
Australia is among the world’s most demanding solar markets, where product performance and long-term reliability are critical. Intense ultraviolet exposure, high temperatures and dust create challenging operating conditions, making robust validation essential.
At the exhibition, TÜV Rheinland awarded Hi-MO 9 Prime a product conformity certificate covering fundamental performance and reliability assessments, including light-induced degradation (LID) and light- and elevated-temperature-induced degradation (LeTID).
Liu Yuxi, Vice President of LONGi and President of Global Marketing, emphasised that the industry needs more than impressive specifications: customers depend on products whose performance is validated over their full operating life. He said TÜV Rheinland’s assessments provide quantifiable, traceable evidence of product safety, energy performance and environmental adaptability, reflecting LONGi’s commitment to long-term reliability rather than short-term performance claims.
LONGiBank 3.0 also received TÜV Rheinland certification during the exhibition.
Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi and General Manager of LONGi’s energy storage business, noted that safety is a prerequisite for entering Australia’s highly regulated energy storage market.
