SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG announces the sale of its Optical Data Storage (“OD”) business unit to Sonopress GmbH, Gütersloh. Sonopress is a globally recognized and well-established market leader in the replication of CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs as well as in mastering services. The company has the required expertise to provide service and spare parts, supported by a high-performance logistics center supplying customers in Germany and internationally. The transfer of the relevant business activities takes effect immediately. The parties have agreed not to disclose the commercial terms of the transaction.
By divesting activities in the OD segment, which no longer form part of its core business, SINGULUS is consistently sharpening its focus on core competencies and strategic growth areas. The company’s emphasis is on innovative machinery and process technologies for demanding high-tech applications, particularly in the semiconductor, solar, medical technology, and hydrogen and battery sectors.
Sonopress GmbH and SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG will contact customers individually and provide detailed information regarding the transfer and transition process.
SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES – Thin Film Technology and Surface Treatment
SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES develops and builds innovative machines and systems for efficient production processes in thin film technology and surface treatment, which are used worldwide in the photovoltaic, semiconductor, medical technology, packaging, glass & automotive, and battery & hydrogen markets.
In addition to coating technology processes (cathode sputtering/PVD/sputtering, PECVD, vapor deposition), the company’s core competencies also include thermal production processes, wet-chemical processes, and surface treatment.
