In Gipuzkoa, Spain, Talaia Public High School, serving 600 students and employing 75 teachers, is setting a new standard for sustainability with the Solar Scholars Initiative. By integrating AIKO’s N-Type ABC technology, the school has significantly reduced operational costs and its carbon footprint while achieving unparalleled energy output—delivering more than 80% of its production capacity.

Installed by Bai Solar (www.bai-solar.com) in April 2024, the 27 kWp solar system was designed to overcome space constraints while ensuring optimal performance. AIKO’s high-efficiency N-Type ABC modules emerged as the best choice, delivering superior power generation and long-term reliability.

Measurable Impact of AIKO’s ABC Modules:

  • Higher Installed Capacity: 4.65% more capacity than alternative technologies.

  • Increased Energy Revenue: 8% higher annual clean energy revenue, adding €641 per year.

  • Reduced Carbon Footprint: 329,583 kg CO₂ savings, 24,648 kg more than conventional modules.

  • Faster Payback: 4.5% shorter payback period, recovering investment two months earlier.

  • Lifetime Value: Additional €4,500 in revenue per year over the system’s lifespan.

Borja Pérez, the Secretary of Talaia Public High School, highlighted the significance of the project: “Integrating solar energy into our school was both an environmental and financial decision. AIKO’s high-efficiency modules allow us to cut electricity costs while significantly reducing our carbon footprint. This project shows our students that sustainability is not just an idea but a real, achievable goal.”

Bai Solar’s project manager, Aitor Giménez, echoed this sentiment: “We were initially cautious about working with AIKO, a newer name in Europe. However, their N-Type ABC modules exceeded expectations, offering not just high efficiency but also a sleek, full-black design that our clients love. Since then, every project we undertake incorporates AIKO modules.”

The success of the Solar Scholars Initiative reflects a broader movement toward clean energy adoption. As institutions, businesses, and communities embrace high-performance solar solutions, they collectively drive progress toward a zero-carbon society. AIKO’s cutting-edge technology empowers stakeholders across industries to maximize energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and build a sustainable future for all.
