Driven by Egypt’s accelerating renewable energy development, Solar & Storage Live Egypt opened in Cairo, bringing together global energy innovators to explore new opportunities in solar and storage. Suntech showcased its full-range PV technologies, high-efficiency modules, and integrated energy storage solutions at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, demonstrating its capabilities across the entire value chain from silicon wafers and solar cells to modules and storage systems.
With abundant solar resources and growing demand for reliable electricity supply, Egypt is accelerating the transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy structure. The country is expanding utility-scale solar projects, distributed PV applications, and energy storage deployment to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources and support diverse scenarios including desert power plants, commercial and industrial facilities, and rural electrification.
Advanced Cell Technology
At the exhibition, Suntech highlighted its latest N-type technology innovations, with quarter-cut cell technology becoming one of the key attractions. Leveraging advanced manufacturing processes and continuous R&D investment, Suntech’s self-developed TOPCon 3.0 cell technology has achieved a conversion efficiency exceeding 27.5%.
The quarter-cut cell design effectively reduces internal current losses, minimizes hot spot risks, and improves module reliability and energy yield. These advantages make Suntech’s products particularly suitable for Egypt’s challenging climate conditions, including high temperatures and frequent dust exposure.
Alongside quarter-cut cells, Suntech also presented multiple N-type wafer solutions, including mainstream-size wafers and ultra-thin flexible silicon wafers, further strengthening its high-efficiency technology foundation for diverse PV applications.
High-Efficiency Modules
Building on its advanced cell and wafer technologies, Suntech showcased a comprehensive portfolio of N-type high-efficiency modules, featuring up to 740W power output and 24.1% module efficiency.
Designed for Egypt’s high-temperature environment, Suntech’s TOPCon-based modules deliver strong temperature performance, helping reduce power losses under extreme heat conditions and ensuring stable energy output throughout the day.
With flexible product sizes and power configurations, Suntech’s module portfolio can support a wide range of applications, from large-scale desert solar projects and commercial rooftops to residential distributed PV systems. By maximizing solar resource utilization, these solutions help customers achieve higher energy yields and long-term economic value.
Integrated Storage Solutions
To address challenges such as grid fluctuations, remote power supply limitations, and increasing demand for energy flexibility, Suntech introduced its “SunStorage” integrated energy storage solutions covering residential and commercial & industrial applications.
By combining PV generation with energy storage, excess solar power generated during the day can be stored and used when needed, enabling more stable and continuous electricity supply. The solutions support applications ranging from remote communities and small businesses to large-scale renewable energy projects, helping accelerate the transition from intermittent solar generation to reliable 24/7 clean energy.
Local Partnership Growth
With a fully integrated PV and storage value chain covering R&D, manufacturing, system integration, and service capabilities, Suntech is able to provide customized solutions tailored to different market needs and operating environments.
During the exhibition, Suntech deepened its collaboration with local distributor GreenSolar through a series of joint activities, including an exclusive CEO interview, a distributor certification ceremony, and partner appreciation initiatives. The events showcased the strong alignment and growing partnership between the two companies as they work together to expand access to reliable solar solutions in Egypt. Leveraging Suntech’s global technology capabilities and GreenSolar’s local market expertise, both parties are committed to accelerating clean energy adoption across commercial and industrial, residential, and utility-scale solar applications.
Looking ahead, Suntech will continue to leverage technological innovation and local partnerships to deliver reliable PV and storage solutions, supporting North Africa’s energy transition and contributing to a sustainable green energy future.
