Trinasolar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, secured No.1 in Wood Mackenzie’s Global Solar Module Manufacturer Ranking for H1 2025, supported by its advanced technology, third-party certification and strong investment in R&D, underscoring widespread recognition of Trinasolar's comprehensive strength.

"We are honored to be ranked No.1, which reflects the strong market and customer trust in Trinasolar," said Ni Lili, President of Solar Product Division at Trinasolar." This ranking highlights our proven strengths in technology leadership, product reliability, supply chain resilience and delivering long-term value to customers worldwide."

Released by Wood Mackenzie, the report evaluates 38 major PV module manufacturers worldwide from buyers’ perspective. The assessment covers ten key dimensions, including technology maturity, research and development, availability of third-party certifications and so on. A key highlight of this year’s assessment lies in its approach to technology evaluation. For the first time, Wood Mackenzie introduced an energy-yield–oriented metric to assess technology maturity, reflecting front-side conversion efficiency as the baseline and rear-side energy contribution, enabled by bifaciality, as the incremental gain. The results show that TOPCon outperforms other technologies, largely due to its higher bifaciality.

As an early mover of n-type technology, Trinasolar continues to lead the TOPCon pathway, backed by mature, large-scale delivery of high-efficiency modules.

Beyond efficiency metric, product reliability remains a critical benchmark as industry standards rises. All top-ten manufacturers in the ranking have passed third-party extended reliability testing, with 99% of tested modules based on PERC and TOPCon technologies. Trinasolar’s Vertex N modules excelled in all seven tests of Kiwa PVEL, earning “Top Performer” and were named RETC’s “Overall Highest Achiever”.

Trinasolar’s great achievements are supported by its sustained and substantial investment in R&D. According to Wood Mackenzie, only 3 out of the 38 surveyed manufacturers invest more than 4% of revenue into R&D, with Trinasolar among them. In the first three quarters of 2025, Trinasolar’s investment in R&D reached RMB 3.207 billion, accounting for 6.42% of its revenue. This strong dedication to innovation has directly translated into cutting-edge achievements. Recently, the company achieved its 37th world record, marking a milestone breakthrough in next-generation high-efficiency PV technologies.
