A 23.92MW PV project in Shanghai Pudong International Airport has connected to grid at full-capacity, using Trinasolar's anti-glare PV solution. This project demonstrates that stringent airport safety requirements and green, low-carbon construction can be met simultaneously, showcasing Trinasolar’s leadership in providing advanced PV solutions for low-carbon infrastructure.

Airport runways and surrounding airspace are subject to stringent safety and reliability requirements for light reflection. At Pudong International Airport, China's busiest hub for both passenger and cargo traffic, it was clearly stipulated from the outset that any PV installation must deliver efficient power generation while complying with rigorous safety, reliability, and anti-glare standards.

Therefore, controlling module glare at airports are extremely crucial. Trinasolar's anti-glare modules break the specular reflection path of sunlight, converting strong glare into soft, non-directional diffused light. Tests show their anti-glare range is over twice that of conventional modules, with glare intensity reduced by 47%, fundamentally eliminating direct strong light interference. These modules achieve the industry breakthrough of anti-glare without sacrificing power generation by precise matching of anti-glare glass and high-efficiency cells, solving the core contradiction in new energy application in special scenarios.

Designed for airport, highways, ports and other special scenarios, Trinasolar's anti-glare modules ensure stable performance across temperatures from -40°C to 85°C and retain structural integrity under extreme weather, including heavy rain, snow, and strong winds.

In this project, Trinasolar delivered not just products, but a comprehensive anti-glare solution. said Vincent Wu, president of China MU at Trinasolar, “By conducting meticulous simulations and customized designs tailored to the precise angles and sightlines of Pudong International Airport, we delivered a solution that guarantees both exceptional safety and energy performance”. Wu Yanfang, general manager at Shanghai Yijiarun, the project partner, noted that Trinasolar's modules completely eliminate direct strong light risks and achieve dual compliance of safety and efficiency, outperforming solutions with insufficient anti-glare effect or high power generation loss.

Equipped with Trinasolar’s anti-glare solution, the project is expected to generate 24.58 million kWh annually, save over RMB 7.4 million in electricity costs, and reduce 13,200 tons of carbon emissions each year. It will provide a replicable and scalable low-carbon solution for airports and other light-sensitive infrastructure, advancing sustainable energy adoption in complex operational environments.

As a global leader of smart PV and energy storage solutions, Trinasolar, with its mission of "Solar Energy for All", will continue to provide more efficient, valued products and scenario-tailored solutions to customers, contributing to a net-zero future.
