Calendar Week 13 saw price declines for 13 of the 18 products listed in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index. The declines were the lowest for modules and the highest for wafers.
3 of the 5 polysilicon types listed saw price declines Week-on-Week (WoW) in CW13. Reusable Chinese polysilicon was down -2.4% WoW and Chinese polysilicon was down -2.5%. Granular silicon lost the most WoW, declining -5.6%.
All of the wafer types listed saw WoW declines in CW13. While the n-type 210 mm lost the least at -3.5% WoW, the p-type 210 mm declined the most at -12.7%.
Prices for PERC bifacial p-type 182 mm were down -1.3% WoW in CW13, but up 4.2% YtD. PERC bifacial p-type 210 mm was down -5.1%, while n-type 182 mm declined the least at -2.1% WoW.
All PERC module types lost value in the low single-digits this week, seeing movement for the first time since CW5, while the TOPCon variety continues to maintain its price levels.
Solar glass types continue to be stable in CW13, after the 3.2 mm solar glass lost -8.9% and the 2.0 mm lost almost double that at -17.5% in CW10.
A definitive trend of declining prices has emerged during CW13. Only 2 of the 18 products listed show price increases YtD, while 16 show declines. While polysilicon types and modules have seen low to mid-single-digit declines so far this year, the magnitude of decline is higher for wafers and glass. Wafer prices are the most affected, seeing double-digit declines of up to -26.1%.
