Calendar Week 30 continued the trend of relative price stagnation for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index into the 6th week, with only solar glass seeing any price movement from CW29.
The polysilicon category continued to maintain stable prices WoW, since seeing mid-single-digit price declines in CW25.
Wafer prices have been stable for 9 consecutive weeks now, with no price changes seen since CW21.
All cell prices were flat WoW in CW30, compared to declines of -3.3% and -5.7% for the 2 TOPCon variants in CW29.
As with all the other products upstream, all module prices were steady WoW. However, the module category has seen price declines ranging from -1.2% to -5.1% MoM.
After 13 weeks of no changes, the 3.2 mm (thicker) solar glass variant saw a decline of -1.9%. The 2.0 mm (thinner) glass was down -4.2% WoW in CW30, its first change since CW10.
While the last 6 weeks have been relatively stable, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen considerable declines in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the -40.2% mark YtD. Among wafers, the n-type 182 mm variant has lost exactly half its value YtD, at -50.0%. Declines in cell prices are approaching -40.0% YtD, while modules have been relatively stable so far this year, losing only up to -21.6%.
