Following the recent trend of relative stability, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw another stable week in Calendar Week 32.
Polysilicon prices have maintained their levels since seeing mid-single-digit price declines in CW25.
After 10 consecutive weeks of no price movements, the wafers category saw its first change in CW32. The p-type 210 mm wafer declined -5.4% from CW31, the only product in our listing to see a change this week.
While all cell types were flat WoW, prices for TOPCon n-type cells have seen declines of up to -8.6% MoM.
Module prices remained unchanged WoW in CW32. Modules have been the most stable category in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index by far this year.
Solar glass prices were stable WoW, after the 3.2 mm solar glass declined -1.9% and the 2.0 mm (thinner) glass declined -4.2% in CW30.
While there has been relative stability over the last 8 weeks, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen considerable declines in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the -40.2% mark YtD. Among wafers, the n-type 182 mm variant has lost exactly half its value YtD, at -50.0%. Declines in cell prices are approaching -40.0% YtD, while modules have been relatively stable so far this year, losing only up to -21.6%.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
