After a relatively stable few weeks, 3 product categories of the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw Week-on-Week (WoW) price changes in Calendar Week 46.

All listed silicon types maintained their price levels both WoW and Month-on-Month (MoM).

The p-type and n-type 182 mm variants were the only products to see price declines among wafer products, down 1.8% and 1.0%, respectively.

Cell prices broke their 6-week stable streak with PERC 182 mm and 210 mm cells down 1.8% and 3.4% WoW, respectively, and the TOPCon 210 mm and bifacial 210R variants losing 1.7% and 3.5% WoW, respectively.

The 2 TOPCon module types lost value in CW46 with the 182 mm variant down 2.8% and the 210 mm down 2.1% WoW.

The 2 solar glass varieties have maintained their prices from CW42.

The TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen greater price declines upstream than downstream in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the 39.3% price decline mark YtD. Among wafers, the older n-type variants have lost more than 55% of their value thus far this year. The decline for the TOPCon 182 mm cell (down 43.8% YtD) is disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 21.8% to 31.4% YtD. And finally, solar glass prices are down in the 21.4% to 35% range YtD.

The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
