TaiyangNews PV Price Index – 2024 - CW47

Staying true to the general trend over the past few weeks, only one product category in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw Week-on-Week (WoW) price changes in Calendar Week 47.

All listed silicon types have maintained their price levels since CW39.

Wafer prices were flat WoW in CW47, following a week where the 182 mm variants of both p-type and n-type saw price declines of 1.8% and 1.0%, respectively.

Cell prices are back to maintaining levels after they broke a 6-week stability streak last week.

PERC modules are the only products to see price changes in CW47, with the monofacial variant declining 1.5% WoW, while the bifacial 182 mm and 210 mm variants declined 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively.

The 2 solar glass varieties have maintained their prices since CW39.

With 5 weeks to go, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen greater price declines upstream than downstream in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the 39.3% price decline mark YtD. Among wafers, the older n-type variants have lost more than 55% of their value thus far this year. The decline for the TOPCon 182 mm cell (down 43.8% YtD) is disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 21.8% to 31.4% YtD. And solar glass prices are down in the 21.4% to 35% range YtD.

The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
