Calendar Week 50 was another mostly stable one for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index, with only 2 listed products seeing price changes Week-on-Week (WoW)
Prices in the polysilicon category continue to be stable, with the last change recorded in CW39
Wafer prices were flat WoW for the 4th week running.
All the listed cell types maintained their prices in CW50. The TOPCon 182 mm cell is the only listed product that is up 3.7% Month-on-Month (MoM).
The 210 mm HJT module was down 3.8% WoW, the only module type to see a price decline in CW50
Having seen no changes in solar glass prices since CW39, the thicker 3.2 mm variant saw a 2.3% decline from CW49.
While the TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen greater price declines upstream than downstream in CY2024, it has found relative stability as the year nears its end. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the 39.3% price decline mark YtD. Among wafers, the older n-type variants have lost more than 55% of their value thus far this year. While it has seen a rebound over the last 2 weeks, the decline for the TOPCon 182 mm cell (down 41.7% YtD) is still disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 23% to 31.8% YtD. And solar glass prices are down in the 23.2% to 35% range YtD.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
