With upstream prices stable week-on-week (WoW) but declines continuing downstream, Calendar Week 16 marks the 8th consecutive week of declines for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index.
While stable WoW, the polysilicon category has declined by ~15%-20% month-on-month (MoM), with listed products losing a fifth to nearly a third of their value year-to-date (YtD).
The 3 n-type wafer products were also stable WoW, following steady, gradual declines since CW4, with YtD declines ranging from 23.5% (n-type 210 mm, 130 µm) to 28.0% (n-type 182 mm, 130 µm).
In the cell category, the pace of WoW declines accelerated compared to CW15, ranging from 4.0% (TOPCon 210 mm) to 5.8% (TOPCon 182 mm). The segment is now firmly in negative territory YtD.
The modules category resumed its downward trend after a brief pause last week, with low single-digit declines across the board
After remaining steady since their first declines of 2026 in CW11, 3.2 mm solar glass prices fell by 5.1%, while 2.0 mm glass declined by 10.2% WoW.
Overall, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index remains firmly in the red in CY2026, with modules the only segment still in positive territory YtD. The downturn has now extended to 8 consecutive weeks: polysilicon and wafers are down over 20% YtD, while solar glass and cells have recorded high-single- to low-double-digit declines.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
