Calendar Week 32 was another relatively stable week for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index, with upstream and module prices unchanged while cells continued their recent recovery.
The polysilicon segment was unchanged for the second consecutive week.
The wafer segment also remained stable week-on-week (WoW).
The cell category followed up a positive week in CW31 with another one, with all three TOPCon cell types gaining high single digits WoW.
The modules category was flat WoW, after recording low-single-digit price declines in CW31.
The two solar glass variants have seen no price changes since CW17.
The TaiyangNews PV Price Index appears to have stabilized over the past couple of weeks, coinciding with China’s efforts to curb unfair price competition.
Year-to-date (YtD), polysilicon and wafers have lost more than a quarter of their value, while cells have clawed back some of their declines. Solar glass prices are down between 7.5% and 14.8%. Modules remain the only segment still in positive territory overall in CY2026, although 2 module types are now in negative territory.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
