The TaiyangNews PV Price Index took a slight downturn in Calendar Week 35, with two new module variants added to the index and two others discontinued.
The polysilicon segment remained unchanged for the fifth consecutive week.
Wafer prices declined by 1.8% to 4.3% week-on-week (WoW), although the segment remains in positive territory month-on-month (MoM).
TOPCon 182 mm cell prices declined by 7.5% WoW, while the bifacial 210R variant fell by 1.6%. However, all three listed cell types remain up by double digits MoM.
TOPCon Module 182 × 210 mm (635-640W) was added to the index at RMB 0.76/W, while TOPCon 182 × 210 mm 132-Cell Bifacial Module (645W-650W) was added at RMB 0.79/W. Meanwhile, two other TOPCon module types – 182 mm 72-cell and 210 mm 60-cell – were discontinued.
The two solar glass variants have seen no price changes since CW17.
The TaiyangNews PV Price Index is now on a 5-week streak of relative stability, despite the sharp movements in wafer and cell prices in recent weeks. While the polysilicon segment has lost more than a third of its value year-to-date (YtD), wafers and cells have significantly clawed back their earlier declines. Solar glass prices are down between 7.5% and 14.8%. With the latest discontinuations, the module category remains in the green YtD.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
