The TaiyangNews PV Price Index recorded its first declines of 2026 in Calendar Week 4; however, it also saw increases across 2 categories.
The polysilicon category remains unchanged, as has been the case since CW41 2025.
Prices for n-type 210 mm and 210R wafers declined 3.2% and 3.7% week-on-week (WoW), becoming the first products to witness declines in CY2026.
All 3 TOPCon cell types posted identical WoW increases of 6.1%, following an identical 7.9% increase last week. The category is up double-digits YtD in just the 4th week of Calendar 2026.
The 4 TOPCon bifacial module types saw increases ranging from 1.3% to 8.1%, BC Module 210R was up 9.3% WoW, while China Project Prices were up in the range of 4.0% to 5.4%.
The 2 solar glass variants were stable WoW.
While CW4 saw the first declines of the year, January 2026 has been highly positive for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index. While wafers are down single digits YtD, cells and modules are generally up double-digits. The polysilicon and solar glass categories are yet to record their first movements for CY2026.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
